an appreciation of

THE CLASH

“Take the 5th” take their name from the title given by The Clash to their 2nd US tour of 1979.

What you get are the songs written by The Clash, performed with power, conviction and accuracy. There is no attempt to impersonate, what would be the point of that? the clash did it right first time. having said that their music deserves to be heard live. any day, every town.

Take The 5th have been gigging for years, but are first and foremost Clash fans. The blend of rock and reggae recaptures the unique mood of the most vibrant of times.

Joe Strummer Remembrance Night

Komedia, Brighton, Sat 9th Jan 2010 - What a brilliant night, a full house despite the snow. Kudos to everyone who joined the celebration of Joe's life and ignored the doom and gloom merchants who'd sooner have us Clamped down in our homes!

Massive thanks to Dan once more, Nice one Brother you did us all proud, and cheers to Southside Rebellion for standing in so impressively at short notice.

see you next year!

No Snow can stop us!

Now with Southside Rebellion since the mighty Havana-a-go-go split
